Scott Mills, Au.D.

Doctor of Audiology

Scott Mills, Au.D. is an audiologist providing hearing aids, hearing tests, and other audiology services in North Carolina.

Dr. Mills is originally from Maryland and spent much time in both Maryland and his family’s home in Arkansas.

In 1984, he graduated with a B.A. in Communication Disorders from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. At this Christian college, he gained a life focus on serving others.

Afterward, he received a Master’s degree in Audiology from the University of Tennessee.

He practiced audiology for several years before returning to school to earn a Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Florida, School of Health Sciences.

As an audiologist, he has worked in two ear, nose, and throat physician practices and one specialty ear surgery practice. For several years, he co-owned a private audiology practice before opening his own practice in 2007.

I hold a North Carolina license to practice Audiology, certified by the American Board of Audiology, and a member of these professional organizations:

  • American Academy of Audiology (AAA)
  • North Carolina Audiology Association – President, 2011-2013, representing 650 audiologists in NC
  • Academy of Doctors of Audiology

My general life and professional philosophy comes from the Bible: “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests but also to the interests of others.” Philippians 2:3-4

My wife, Sue Ann, is an important part of Carolina Hearing Doctors and helps coordinate care for all of their patients. We have been married for over 30 years and have three adult children and three adorable grandchildren.

I am a shepherd in our local church and helps oversee many activities within the congregation. I have been on the board of directors for Carolina Bible Camp in Mocksville. I also serve on the Advisory Board for the Department of Communication Disorders at Harding University, and both me and Sue Ann serve on the President’s Council at Harding in Searcy, Arkansas.

I participate in long-distance swimming events and enjoys outdoor activities like kayaking and fishing. I also enjoy barbecuing and uses this hobby to gather friends and family together.

My involvement with hearing blends well with his interest in music. I also enjoys classic cars, being the owner of a 1966 Ford Mustang convertible.
